If you are applying for a Saskatchewan Marriage Certificate to support a separate application such as for a Passport, Driver's Licence, Immigration, or Native Status, it is important to check with the organization requesting the document to ensure you obtain the correct vital record.   • A child of the marriage may apply, must provide a long form birth certificate listing both parties of the marriage as the parents.
  • A legal guardian of a party to the marriage may apply, must provide papers.
  • An executor of the estate, must provide the last will and testament naming you as the executor.

A Saskatchewan Certified Copy of Marriage Registration is a certified copy of the actual registration filled out at the time of marriage.

Saskatchewan Genealogical Copy of Registration of Marriage

A Saskatchewan Genealogical Copy of Registration of Marriage is a copy of the marriage registration stamped “For Genealogy Only” and is only available for events that took place over 75 years ago.

NOTE: Certified copies are rarely needed by citizens and are, by law, for restricted use only. They are generally only required for court or consulate purposes. They are not recommended for use as identification.
