Includes basic information, including subject’s name, place and date of birth.

Birth Certificate with Parental Information - $85.00 plus tax and issuing agency fee
Required to obtain a passport for a child. Includes the same information as a birth certificate, along with the name of each parent listed on the birth registration and their place of birth.

Certified Copy of Birth Registration - $85.00 plus tax and issuing agency fee
A certified copy of birth registration is not recommended as a form of identification and is only required to meet certain legal requirements. It is a copy of the original birth registration and has been certified a true copy by Vital Statistics.

Genealogical Photocopy of a Registration of Birth - $85.00 plus tax and issuing agency fee
Contains all the information that appears on the original registration and is stamped “For Genealogy Only”.

Who Can Apply for a Birth Certificate?

  • The person who is the subject of the certificate, if they are 15 years of age or older;
  • The parent, if the subject is less than 18 years old;
  • The custodial guardian, must provide papers;
  • The executor of the estate, must provide the will.

Saskatchewan Vital Statistics requires that you provide documentation to verify your identity for your protection.
