If you are applying for a British Columbia Marriage Certificate to support a separate application such as for a Passport, Driver's Licence, Immigration, or Native Status, it is important to check with the organization requesting the document to ensure you obtain the correct vital record. Changes cannot be made once an order has been placed.

Certificates ordered with regular service average 15 business days to be processed and delivered.

Certificates ordered with rush service average 5 to 8 business days to be processed and delivered. Requests for rush service will be processed within 2 business days and will be couriered to you.

  • Certified Copy of Marriage Registration – $100.00 each

If no record of the marriage is found by the British Columbia Vital Statistics Agency, fees will be applied to the search cost and will not be refunded by the Agency.

The British Columbia Marriage Certificate contains the full names, sex, birthdates, and birth places of the couple as well as the date of marriage, place of marriage, registration number, and date of registration.

British Columbia Certified Copy of Marriage Registration

A British Columbia Certified Copy of Marriage Registration is a certified copy of the actual registration filled out at the time of marriage.

NOTE: Certified copies are rarely needed by citizens and are, by law, for restricted use only. They are generally only required for court or consulate purposes. They are not recommended for use as identification.
